The gluten-free market has become a mainstream way of achieving a healthier life. In fact, according to research data, 41% of consumers want healthier food options. Unfortunately, it seems as though the term gluten-free has become synonymous with sacrificing taste.
However, this weekend I received four cakes to sample from Inspired by Happiness – a brand that’s committed to creating decadent and delicious gluten-free cakes- that actually convinced me that gluten-free doesn’t have to mean deprivation.
The Inspired by Happiness brand is manufactured by The Original Cakerie, a leading manufacturer of desserts for the North American Foodservice and Retail industries. That means it uses only the highest quality ingredients with ongoing commitment to ensuring that these ingredients include natural flavors, natural colors, no artificial trans fat and that their facilities are Kosher and BRC-certified.
Nine out of 10 who have sampled both their regular and gluten-free cakes were not able to tell them apart. That’s something to be happy about.
The cake flavors we sampled were very compelling: Cravin’ for Cookies and Cream, Dreamin’ of Strawberries and Dreamin’ of Chocolate.
The Chocolate Cake is made with two generous layers of the finest Belgian white chocolate mousse between layers of dark chocolate sponge cake and then topped with chocolate ganache.
The Strawberry Cake contains succulent strawberry filling between three layers of light and moist shortcake and the Belgian white chocolate mousse.
The Cookies and Cream Cake is reminiscent of an old-time favorite containing sponge cake and cubes of cookies and silky vanilla cream mousse. It’s then smothered in dark chocolate ganache and white chocolate drizzle.
Honestly, none of my guests at my cake tasting party could believe these cakes were gluten-free. They unanimously agreed they were delicious without limits!
I don’t often recommend products on my blog but honestly, this g-free line of cakes is a keeper. In fact, I’m not even gluten-free but I am a happy consumer of their tasty products. Theses cakes, served with a nice heaping scoop of ice cream, turned an otherwise boring Friday night into a fun party!
