Hands down, broccoli is our family veggie fave. Every person in my family loves broccoli, however it's served. When I'm in a pinch for green side for a meal, I go to broccoli. Usually it's served sautéed with some olive oil, sea salt and a sprinkle of fresh Parmesan cheese. Summertime always reminds me of the bountiful sweet corn harvest. I’ve watched many of the farms on the east end of Long Island transform themselves from barren dirt-covered fields to symmetrical rows of the lush, rigid corn stalks, jutting up towards the sky.
