Final Day for #Bake it Happen!

It's the LAST day of our month-long Bake it Happen campaign for breast cancer research. My sister and I are completely overwhelmed from the mass participation this year. It's so meaningful for us to have received pictures of Bake it Happens from complete strangers from all over the country. From cheer leading squads to play dates, Starbuck's Baristas to high schoolteachers, everyone has enjoyed baking one of mom's famed baked goods, all in the name of breast cancer research.   Photos have been coming in from all over the country.  From Texas to Maine, California to Florida, we've been loving the pictures of Mom's baked goods. Happy Birthday- Let’s Bake it Happen

Happy birthday MOM. Six years ago this month, my mom Judy  passed away from Metastatic Breast Cancer. How ironic that not only is October her birthday month and the month she died but, it's also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While Judy is no longer physically here with us, she's been filling our kitchen's and our hearts with her cherished recipes. Wake Up Call: Life is for the Living

This week I had to travel to my hometown unexpectedly to help my father recover from some complex back surgery. I cherish the feeling of being needed and being able to help.  I am the baby of the family and I was always babied growing up. However, at this point in my life, the tables have turned; my roles seem to have morphed into taking care of my children as well as my parent(s) whenever I can.
