Today I decided to recreate a COMPOST COOKIE recipe that was inspired by Christina Tosi, head pastry chef from celebrated Momofuku Milk Bar in NYC. I love Compost Cookies because no two cookies will ever taste the same.  As the baker, you can get as creative as you want with the ingredients. Viennese Crescent Cookies

While I am away on vacation, I'm reposting some of the holiday favorites.  Hope you enjoy.... Viennese Crescent Cookies, or Vanillekipferl, are similar to sugar cookies and the most distinctive characteristic is their shape: they are formed into crescents.  The cookies use ground nuts for flavor, either almonds and hazelnuts.  Since my daughter loves nutella, I suspected the odds of her liking these cookies were high. Viennese Crescent Cookies

Today we celebrated Jewish Christmas. We relaxed at home, went to the movies and then ate Mexican food (we usually eat Chinese).  I decided this morning was the perfect time to try to replicate Mom’s Viennese Crescent Cookies as they’re often associated with Christmas.
