  While we haven't officially gone pumpkin picking yet, we're definitely incorporating pumpkin into our kitchen. Last Thursday was the kick off our our national breast cancer baking campaign Bake it Happen and our newest campaign recipe is a tasty Pumpkin Oatmeal Chip Cookie.  I made 3 batches with my kids this weekend that we'll be distributing over the course of the week. Pumpkin Chip Pancakes

Every year during fall’s harvest my family pays proper homage to pumpkins.  Before I spent dedicated time in the kitchen, that simply involved going pumpkin picking and carving pumpkins.  Now that I’m cooking more, it means more pumpkin-based recipes! Easy as Pumpkin Pie

Growing up, my Grandma Sylvia was known in many different circles in Baltimore, Maryland simply as “the pie lady.”  In the late 1940’s, she used to home bake sinfully sweet, deliciously fresh pies and sell them to the local store for some extra cash.  Extended family dinners at Gram’s apartment became the Friday night ritual.  If you missed a dinner, you’d miss the opportunity to get a coveted piece of one of her pies, where homemade crusts and fresh whipped cream sealed in a variety of intense flavors from: chocolate to pecan to pumpkin spice. … [Read more...]
