Ultimate Breakfast: Freekeh and Fruit

I think I’m probably out of the norm when I say that I truly enjoy receiving interesting foods to sample and review. My most recent discovery came Friday afternoon in a non-descript white envelope shipped from Freekehlicious LLC. Sounds like a gift from a Halloween novelty shop, right?  Au contraire. Angel Food French Toast

  Angel Food cake is one of my favorite sponge cakes.  I adore its light airy texture laced with that hint of sweetness.  In fact, to me, it doesn’t taste like cake at all, probably because it’s made from very basic ingredients like whipped egg whites, sugar and flour. Because of it’s angelic name, it doesn’t evoke any guilt for me when it’s eaten.  Now, Devil’s Food Cake is a totally different story. BLT Quiche: Bacon, Leek & Tomato

Yay, it’s one of my favorite days of the month, my Secret Recipe Club reveal day for February! Chicken Asparagus Quiche

This week we resumed our Wednesday night Breakfast-for-Dinner ritual.  We’re trying to get back into many of the routines that were forgotten over summer vacation. I decided to adapt one of Mom’s quiche recipes.  My kids have loved all the other egg-based dishes I’ve made (calling them egg pies) so, I figured I’d experiment with a Chicken Asparagus Quiche.
